Using ClipartsUSING CLIPARTS IN BRYCE

Note: this tutorial is based on Corel Photo Paint, but it should be
possible to follow the steps with each other image editing program.

  • Import a clipart into your image editing programm as a grayscale picture. Set the resolution of
this picture to a resolution that matches the Bryce terrain resoltion. In most situations 512x512
    pixel should be enough.

  • Use an unsharp mask such as "gaussian blur" on this picture. You find this filter in the effects
    menu

    brp2
  • Save the image in a format Bryce can read (e.g.: tif, or tga). Now create a terrain in Bryce and
change to the terrain editor. Change the terrain resolution to 512. Choose the pictures tab
and load the picture you've just created

    brp3
  • Apply the picture to the terrain. Change to the elevation tab and invert the terrain.

  • If you want you can use the clipping bracket to fine tune your creation. Leave the terrain
editor, apply a material and render.
