FX PakTired to register pyrocluster and trueparticles from the FX Pak again and again, after you have done a new install ?

  • If you install the fx pak on the same machine with the same hard drives in it, you only have to backup the following folders:
    1. in the tsx directory the Trueparticles folder with the *.save and *.ok files in it.After the new installation simply copy this folder into the "new" tsx directory. Trueparticles will work fine now without a new code.
    2. For pyrocluster you will have to backup the Plugcfg folder, which resides in your ts directory. After reinstalling pyrocluster, overwrite the new plugcfg with your backup. After a first start of pyrocluster you have to fill out the "registration form" which pops up with your data you have received from cebas when you first registered the plugin.
  • Notes for an installation of trueparticles on a new hard drive: On the old machine go to the dos prompt and type in the word "label" without the quotes. You will see the name of the harddrive and the volume id of this drive. Write the volume id value down. then go to :http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/source/misc.shtml and download the volume id utility. Unzip and copy it to to the new machine. Run this utility from the dos prompt and give the hard drive the same volume id as the old drive. Copy the backed up trueparticles folder to the tsx directory on the new machine. Reboot, start ts and enjoy.
  • Notes for pyrocluster running under ts6: Pyrocluster refuses to install, because it needs ts5 for a install. So you simply have to backup the following files before uninstalling ts5:
    1. The cebas.dll file
    2. The Plugcfg folder
    3. The plugins folder
    4. The Pyrosettings folder
    6. The Pyrocluster sample scenes
