Instand AbstractsTired of creating the ultra realistic scenery and just want to have a little fun with Cinema4D ?

Here is an easy way to create instant abstracts in Cinema 4D:

Start up Cinema 4D and then hit F5 to see all four windows in your workspace.

  • Now create a flower spline in each of the windows. It will work with the other splines to. We only have choosen the folwer spline for faster results.
  • Next add a loft nurbs to your scene
  • Your scene should now look like that:

    Instant1

  • Now select all splines in your object tree manager (at the right side of your C4D window). You do so, clicking on each spline while holding the shift key.The splines shoukld now be highlighted.
  • Move the selected splines in the loft nurbs object. You can dos so by drag and drop with your mouse.
Your perspective window should look like this:

    Instant2

  • Select the loft nurbs object and hit C to make it editable.
  • Now select "Edit Polygons" from the left side of the C4D window.
  • Rightclick somewher in the perspective window and choose "Extrude inner"
  • Now comes the playing part:
Move your mouse until you see something that looks like spikes. Play with it until you are satisfied with your abstract model.
  • Add a last step assign a light to your scene and add a nice material to the loft nurbs:

Instant3

As mentioned above, it will work with all kind of splines. To make it more complex add more splines to your scene. But be warned, if you have al ot of them, Inner extrude can slow down the fastest machine....
