Plant and Pot

This Tutorial describes a quick and easy way to add a simple indoor plant in a pot to your scene.

You don't need special plugins to follow this tutorial.
Just fire up Cinema4D and let's start.

From the objects menu create a sinple disc.

Save all settings at their default values, just change the outer radius to 15.

Press the C key to make the disc editable.

From the left menu sect "Edit Polygons" and select all poligons by clicking ctrl+A.

From the Structure Menu at the top choose "Matrix Extrude" and insert the values from the image below:

Your disc will look like a plant now:

Now let's create the pot for our simple plant:

Hide the plant, which will make it easier to adjust the pot.

From the Objects Menu create a tube and change to values to this setting:

Make the tube editable by hitting the C key and select "Edit Poygons" like you have done with the plant.

Select the two bottom rows of polygons - select the hidden poolygons too !

Scale the selection down to the values shown :

Make the plant object visible and adjust the settings - the plant should fit in to the pot object. Maybe you have to enlarge the pot a little bit.

Now let's assign some simple materials to our scene....

For the plant create a new material and enter the following color values:
R=90 G=150 B=90
Brightness=100%

For the pot object, enter this values:
R=80 G=30 B=20
Brightness=100%
Uncheck the "Specular Highlight".

Feel free to modify this settings or just apply a material from the material library.

Here is the one I have got:
