Here is a way to model a nice barrel just with the standard Cinema4D primitives.This tutorial should work with all versions from 8 up.
Now let's go – so start C4D.
First create a cylinder primitive an enter the properties shown below:
Leave the coordinates at their default values, which means: do not move the cylinder around in your scene.
Next create a torus and enter the values shown in the picture below:
Make sure, that the torus has the following coordinates:
X= 0
Y= -15
Z= -8
Create two copies of the torus and move them to the following coordinate along the Y axis:
Copy1
X= 0
Y= -75
Z= -8
Copy2
X= 0
Y= 48
Z= -8
Create a tube with the following properties:
Move the tube to the following coordinates:
X= 0
Y= 60
Z= 32
Select all objects of your barrels and group them together.
Add some lights and a nice rusted material and render:
